MultiX, world leader in spectrometric x-ray detection for material discrimination applications, announced today that it has been awarded an order from American Science and Engineering, Inc., to provide multi-energy x-ray detectors for evaluation in next generation material identification and discrimination applications in parcel screening products.

The order is part of AS&E’s contract with the United States’ Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Division, Explosives Division.  Its mission is to develop a next-generation architectural concept for advanced explosive detection at current aviation checkpoint systems.
